There couldn’t be a more perfect combination than a sky-inspired baby shower and a venue that will take you there. Queue the Helicopter! It’s no wonder it was featured twice this week on 100 Layer Cakelet and 100 Layer Cake. (hyperlink below)
When you bring in the dynamic duo of planning, design, and perfecting all the details- Laura of Perfectly Poised Events and Candace of Candace Jollee Events-you can expect nothing less than an event this dreamy. We are thrilled to be a part of celebrating the arrival of Bennett James with some of our favorite vendors, including Mom, Aly, and Grandma, Theresa, of Sundrop Vintage. It was so special and fun to be celebrating their growing family. Check out some of our favorite details:
To Eat- A brunch assortment of colorful fruit, salads, breakfast quiches and a savory taco bar. YUM
To Drink- Served up from the Hello Penny bar rental, an assortment of beer, wine and bubbly.
Take Flight- Nothing about this baby shower was average, so naturally the prize for winning a game- a Helicopter Ride. With a gift like that, all the ladies and guys were competitive and eager to play!
We’re happy to share that sweet Bennett James was born on August 6. We can’t wait to meet you little guy!

Jarryd and Kirstie’s June wedding captured the romance of a tropical summer night with a color palette that rivaled the melting colors of a sunset- with green floral accents.
The evening began with an indoor ceremony-the stunning backdrop would be repurposed for their sweetheart table. I do’s were exchanged and their 120 guests were invited out to the Tarmac where they were greeted with a summer breeze, signature cocktails, and tray passed appetizers- crab cakes topped with a mango papaya salsa and crisp, cold vegetarian springs rolls. As they enjoyed the runway views with planes and helicopters in the background- the team inside worked to transform the space for reception. Viola!
They entered their reception in true Hangar 21 fashion with a helicopter grand entrance, but if you’re wondering what a grand entrance REALLY looks like on the other side. Here is the reaction from family and friends:
The tropical theme of the night carried on with a menu to match- beginning with a colorful Papaya salad, with an entrée choice of Kalua Pork with a Pineapple Brown Sugar glaze or Macadamia Mahi-Mahi served alongside candied sweet potatoes and a Hawaiian rice. For dessert, a cherry on top of a build-your-own sundae bar and fresh, warm cookies.

On April 12, 2018, this couple celebrated their union with their closest family and friends- which began with an outdoor ceremony on the Tarmac, with an arch that the groom himself designed and created. For cocktail hour, a selection of tray passed appetizers including Jay’s famous Palm Sandwich. Dinner included an All-American buffet of Boneless BBQ Chicken, Smoked Beef Brisket, Mac and Cheese station plus fresh Cesar Salad, Potato Salad and Dinner Rolls.
The music flowed through the venue, and guests only left the dance floor to be whisked away for a helicopter ride or to refill their drink-both leaving guests buzzing. With a helicopter entrance, the Bride and Groom ended the night equally as grand with a sparkler exit. All captured beautifully captured by Christy Johnston.
Congratulations Princesa and Johnathon.
We couldn’t think of a better way to meet and celebrate our new couples than a Sunday Funday with helicopter rides, mimosas, and a few of our favorite vendors. As the Booth and Bus Co always says, “But first, photos…”
The live tunes of Two Towns Entertainment set the tone for this cocktail-style affair. Sweet Salvage Vintage lounge areas invited guests to mix and mingle inside and on the tarmac.
While Hangar 1 served up brunch bites and a mimosa bar, over in Hangar 2 floral innovator, Rogue and Fox Floral Co, served a custom floral installation and hand-dyed drapery, surrounded by a circular ceremony with our venue ghost chairs.
Kelsey Sage of K.Sage Events brought this event to life with such an original theme and design. Every detail was carefully planned, and curated- and it did not go unnoticed.

For Some Enchanted Evening, we’d like to take you on a trip to an island in the South Pacific where the air is warm, the sky and oceans are blue, and beautiful greenery surrounds you. The cocktails and fun will overflow, and you’ll wish the night would never end. But for this night, you won’t have to travel very far because it all takes place at Hangar 21.Tropical-inspired lounges and entryways, created by Sundrop Vintage and Green Effect, set the theme.
Guests were greeted in true island fashion on the tarmac with signature Mai Tai’s as they silently bid on weekend getaways, signed memorabilia and gifts. Live acoustic melodies, and savory tray passed bites of fresh Thai spring rolls and warm crab cakes topped with mango papaya salsa, provided a simple taste of the night ahead.
The curtain raised (or shall we say- the hangar door), and the show began. A custom plated dinner started with a refreshing pomegranate salad, followed by the main course, an island native, Huli Huli chicken- marinated in a pineapple juice mixture and grilled to perfection. Yumm! And no meal is complete without a perfectly-paired dessert, a pineapple upside down cake and pina colada key lime dessert shot to finish.
The night was filled with unforgettable performances, both amateur and professional. Photographer Austin Bauman captured the energy and excitement so well.
