Wall-E Themed Wedding at Hangar 21 South

Everyone gasped in awe when Nikki stepped out of the bridal suite in her lace wedding dress at Hangar 21 South for her big reveal. Each bridesmaid flooded the bride with uplifting compliments and quirky giggles spread like wildfire when talking about Nikki and Jon’s first touch that was coming up next. The bride and her girl gang dressed in blue headed downstairs and outside to the tarmac.

Jon and Nikki opted for a first touch instead of a first look to keep their initial emotions and reactions for the wedding ceremony. Nikki embraced Jon from behind to greet him and the two shared handwritten private vows to one another. Laughs were contagious and tears were shed as each of them read loving words. With their hearts full, the bride and groom separated and lined up for their ceremony.

A clear acrylic welcome sign painted in brick red and decorated in eucalyptus greeted guests and gestured to the direction of the ceremony outside on the tarmac. A wooden sun acted as the ceremony backdrop and guests filled the surrounding chairs. Jon was first to walk down the aisle followed by the rest of the bridal party and ending with Nikki who was fighting back happy tears as she locked eyes with her soon to be husband. Vows were recited and rings were exchanged marking their lifelong journey together as husband and wife. The crowd cheered as the newlyweds kissed and the party paraded out into cocktail hour.

Crab Cakes and Thai Vegetable Spring Rolls were enjoyed by hungry guests on the side patio and the bar was mixing up the bride and groom’s signature cocktails: A Mai Tai and Old Fashioned. Meanwhile, inside the hangar, reception tables were getting their finishing touches. Tables were draped in grey linen and topped with deep red candle sticks and matching napkins. Tea candles and eucalyptus surrounded the taller red candles as accents. While everyone was enjoying cocktail hour, Nikki and Jon threw on their matching Mr. and Mrs. bomber jackets and headed for the helicopter for their flight over Orange County. After a few photos, they boarded their flight and took off.

Upon touchdown, guests were seated inside and awaiting the bride and groom. The two joyfully made their grand entrance and shared their first dance before taking a seat for dinner. Our Event Specialist, Brittany, along with the bride and groom, pre-selected a dinner of Sweet and Sticky Korean Chicken, Korean Bulgogi Beef, Chow Mein, White Rice and Asian Cucumber Salad. Toasts were made while everyone indulged in dinner before the traditional wedding fun began. Nikki tossed her bouquet and Jon threw the garter before the cake cutting. A 3-tier white cake with raspberry creme filling and French buttercream icing was cut for guests to enjoy for dessert. After eating their fill, everyone hit the dancefloor and grabbed props for the photo booth before the evening ended in a sparkler send off.
