Bits of Blue Wedding

Cat and Dave met on the side patio at Hangar 21 South for their first look. Cat was glowing in a lace wedding gown and Dave was suited up in black. With a tap of the shoulder, Dave turned around to see his beautiful bride. Smiles, hugs, and kisses were exchanged along with sweet compliments, then the couple was joined by their wedding party for group photos. The bridesmaids were dressed in blue and the groomsmen, in black. Together the group paraded around the side patio and tarmac posing for pictures up until it was time for the ceremony.

Guests entered the side patio, grabbed a drink of water or lemonade, then took a seat. Greenery decorated some of the chairs and a tall floral arch stood centerstage. Once everyone had arrived, the ceremony began with Dave leading the charge down the aisle followed by the rest of the wedding party and ending with Cat. A huge smile filled Dave’s face when his bride made her walk down the aisle. Once the two were joined together, everyone took a seat. In front of all their family and friends, Cat and Dave recited vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss. Everyone stood and cheered as the newlyweds exited the ceremony and made their way to cocktail hour on the tarmac.

Guests made sure to stop and sign the bride and groom’s guest book on their way to cocktail hour leaving sincere messages of good fortune and well wishes. On the tarmac, servers tray passed Filet and Wild Mushroom Wellingtons, Crab Cakes, and Fig, Goat Cheese and Mascarpone Tarts and bartenders were mixing up the newlywed’s signature cocktails, a Cadillac Margarita and Sidecar. Cat and Dave mixed and mingled with their guests, then headed off on their helicopter flight. Upon touchdown, it was time for dinner.

Tables were topped with chiffon runners, centerpieces filled with mauve and white florals, blue goblets, knotted ivory napkins, and plates complete with custom menus. The ceremony arch was repurposed behind the sweetheart table and more flowers decorated the table legs. Guests waved their napkins in the air as Cat and Dave made their grand entrance into their first dance, then took a seat. A dinner of Zucchini Lime Chicken and Cabernet Braised Short Ribs with Vegetarian Rotolo Bolzano, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans, and Pear and Walnut Salad was served while friends and family shared toasts. The menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Arielle, during their planning process. Glasses clinked in the air as each speech ended, then the newlyweds cut into their 2-tiered lemon wedding cake. After the cake cutting, Cat and Dave invited their guests to enjoy our Gourmet Dessert Station with an assortment of Mini Lemon Curd Tarts, Berry Champagne Macarons, Raspberry Chocolate Decadence Cakes, Mini Carrot Cupcakes, Caramel Creme with Lemon Curd and Praline Crisp Dessert Shots. Energized from dinner and dessert, guests showed off their dance moves, posed for the photo booth, and snagged a few selfies with the bride and groom. As the sun set, the evening ended with a golden glow over the tarmac creating a magical send off for Cat and Dave.
