A Flower Filled, Travel Themed Wedding

With the help of her bridesmaids, Devin buttoned up the back of her boho-style wedding dress and pinned in her lacy veil then headed to the tarmac for her first look with Eric. Her groom was patiently awaiting her arrival with his back turned towards her, but before their big reveal, the bride and groom read personal vows they had written for one another. Devin and Eric were ready as ever to see each other, and with a swift twirl, the couple was standing face to face. Smiles were shared all around as the two hugged, laughed, and complimented one another. From the tarmac, the two headed back into Hangar 21 South where they waited for the ceremony to begin.

Guests entered into the side patio, signed their choice of postcard at the welcome table, and took a seat. Beautiful flowers framed in the aisle and climbed the wooden arbor backdrop located center stage. The processional soon began after everyone was accounted for. The groom was first to make his entrance followed by the wedding party and ending with the beautiful bride arm-in-arm with her father. At the head of the aisle, Devin and Eric recited traditional vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the deal with a kiss before exiting for cocktail hour.

The tarmac filled with guests while Filet & Wild Mushroom Wellingtons, Fig, Goat Cheese & Mascarpone Tarts, and Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Hearts were tray passed. The newlyweds signature cocktails, an Old Fashioned and Cherry Vodka 7, were named after their fur babies (Lue and Toothless) and had an illustrated sign on the bar so guests could order the special beverage. While conversations and drinks were flowing, Devin and Eric took a quick helicopter ride over Orange County and touched for their grand entrance. Guests surrounded the dance floor and cheered as the newlyweds made their way over. All eyes were on the bride and groom as they shared their first dance just as the sun was setting creating a golden glow over the tarmac.

With the first dance complete, the hangar doors opened revealing a breathtaking reception setup. Greenery hung from the ceiling and fresh flower center pieces ran down the center of each table. Tall candles added a soft light to the already romantic decoration and black napkins sat atop each dinner plate. The floral ceremony arbor was repurposed as the sweetheart table backdrop and candles decorated the tabletop. An airplane seating chart led guests to their assigned tables and toasts began. Friends and family stood and raised a glass to the newlyweds while sharing stories from the past and wishes for the future. Laughs and tears accompanied the memories, then dinner was served. Santorini Chicken, Tri-Tip Carvery, Tortellini with creamy pesto, Red Roasted Garlic Potatoes, Grilled Marinated Vegetables, and Caesar Salad was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Sierra, during their planning process. Guests filled and finished their plates, and some event went back for seconds. The music grew louder and the DJ invited everyone to the dance floor to show off their best moves with Devin and Eric. Shortly into dancing, all the single ladies were asked to remain on the floor for the bouquet toss. With the flick of her wrist, Devin threw her bouquet into the crowd as the ladies jumped to catch it. After, our Classic Dessert Station was unveiled. French Macarons, Raspberry Chocolate Decadence, Fresh Fruit Tarts, Vanilla Bean Chocolate Eclairs and French Apple Tarts filled platters for guests to grab and enjoy. Dessert was only a quick intermission, then everyone danced the night away with the newlyweds. Guests lined up for a streamer send off and popped confetti as the bride and groom ran through the center of the line up towards their get away car. With their friends and family behind them and their future ahead, Devin and Eric took off into the night.
